“One of the most vexing, lingering issue in the field of education is how meaningful educational change can be sustained such that teacher quality is ensured and impact on student learning is maximised.”

We are excited that this work is being done, and we definitely want to continue (email, Principal, Primary School, North Sydney (8-23).
This school has a 100% commitment to the Music and Literacy program, both now and into the future. We welcome the opportunity to enable evidence-based research to be undertaken and our hope is that we get to see the advancement of this program throughout every primary school. (email, Principal, Primary School, Sydney, 1-11-22)
We are right behind this initiative and believe the NSW Dept of Education needs to see the research that corroborates what we as professionals experience every day of our career, music engagement and musical development directly correlate with literacy and numeracy development. I believe music engagement and development enhance literacy and numeracy development. While I am too cautious to say they are causal, we have ample anecdotal evidence from [feeder primary school] that supports that theory (email, Principal, Secondary School North Sydney, 2-11-22).
We are happy to support Dr Beveridge in this important research in relation to the importance of reading in the early reading classroom (email, Principal, Primary School, Newcastle, 11-2-23).

I absolutely loved this fun and practical course. I recommend it to every early reading teacher (K-1 teacher, Sydney).
Excellent PL with explicit links to English and music syllabuses. I will take this new learning straight back to school to enrich my classroom practice (Year 2 teacher, Sydney).
Thank you so much Lorri for a fabulous day! Thanks for sharing your passion and knowledge. Can’t wait to use it in my teaching (primary specialist music teacher, North Sydney).

This [professional learning] was highly engaging, and I have learnt so much from the day lots of practical ideas that can be immediately implemented into the classroom without the need of needing time to do so or buy resources use what is on hand. Wish it was longer! (Kinder teacher)
The best PL I have been to. Cannot believe how fun it was and how easy it will now be to incorporate music into our classroom. Lorri is amazing. We are leaving with a wealth of knowledge. You are so incredible Lorri! I feel so excited and inspired going back to school. You are so talented in presenting and sharing your passion with us all. (Kinder team leader)
I just found the hands-on activities, realistic examples that can be shared and taken back to our practice & the reflection/opportunity to use our new learning into our programs was so beneficial and amazing. I couldn’t want anything extra from this course, the best course I’ve honestly ever attended, and I will be hoping our whole school can engage in this PL as it’s so informative, creative, engaging and overall, just wonderful (K-2 teacher).
I feel so inspired, and I know the impact of this course will reach so many children from my school. So, congratulations on such an amazing course and thank you so, so much. It was linked to research and was the perfect combination of practice and theory. This professional learning was extremely well organised and very practical. Super engaging and so many takeaways. Lorri is a fantastic presenter. Very approachable, genuine, passionate and willing to share her ideas. She facilitated a safe, positive and collaborative environment (Specialist music teacher K-6).

Awesome! I am rewriting our first two- week Kindy program to include so much of your amazing work. We love it at APCS, really taken it on with the whole Kindy team and seeing what we can do, ordered some whole class musical sets too… So excited for our kids!

The literacy program offered by Dr Beveridge is really interesting and suitable for children who are learning English at different levels. Her online learning English through music has helped my child to continue to engage in English learning, although she lives now in a non-English speaking country. Dr Beveridge is a very talented teacher and researcher who can always find interesting topics and learning themes to engage children. Many of her educational ideas are inspiring for me as a parent. My daughter looks forward to each session very much. *****
